Alexandra Delgado presents the Urban Naturalization Master Plan for the city of Gijón/Xixón within the framework of Science Week
In the context of Science Week, a technical conference was held to analyze the present and future of green infrastructure in the urban, peri-urban, and rural areas of the city. The event served as the setting for the official presentation of the recently approved Urban Naturalization Master Plan of Gijón/Xixón, a strategic document for the transformation of the municipality.
Following the presentation of the plan, the session transitioned to a panel of experts and technical staff linked to the project, notably featuring the participation of architect and academic Alexandra Delgado Jiménez. During the meeting, they addressed the progress, lessons learned, and challenges involved in integrating nature into the built environment, placing special emphasis on the positive impact on biodiversity, landscape resilience, and the improvement of the citizens' quality of life.
This dialogue table allowed for a deeper look into the application of nature-based solutions, consolidating Gijón as a benchmark in sustainable urban planning and environmental commitment.
