The future of the land, the forest, the sea, and cities. Trovada BCN 2025 Meeting
Alexandra Delgado Jiménez analyzes the challenges of the climate crisis and territorial resilience at Trovada BCN
On November 19 and 20, the Trovada BCN meeting became the epicenter of the debate on the climate emergency and its impact on natural systems. The event featured the prominent participation of architect and academic Alexandra Delgado Jiménez, who shared her expert vision in a forum dedicated to addressing the profound transformations that global warming is imposing on the water cycle, soil health, and biodiversity.
During the sessions, the analysis focused on how the intensification of extreme phenomena, such as droughts and floods, is compromising water availability and the productive capacity of territories, with special emphasis on the vulnerability of Mediterranean regions. In this context, Delgado Jiménez’s intervention underscored the importance of understanding the territory as a critical indicator of the planet's health and a backbone for the resilience of contemporary societies.
The meeting brought together scientists and professionals to address key issues such as desertification, the response of terrestrial ecosystems to environmental changes, and the fundamental role of biodiversity in mitigating climate effects. Furthermore, adaptation strategies for crops and the future of urbanism in a global crisis scenario were debated.
With an integrative perspective, Alexandra Delgado Jiménez’s participation in Trovada BCN reinforced the need to anticipate the effects of climate change through conscious territorial planning, capable of harmonizing life in cities with the preservation of the natural resources essential for human survival.
