HUCAMP! EVERYONE'S CAMP: A GREEN AND INNOVATIVE DISTRICT FOR OVIEDO

Publication of a scientific article in Planur-e Magazine about territory, urbanism, landscape, sustainability and urban design.

The relocation of the Central University Hospital of Asturias generates a new space of opportunity in a strategic location of the city of Oviedo in the Cristo-Buenavista area.

The aim of the project is the urban regeneration of the area, creating a new urban space of mixed uses, with a higher density and diversity of uses and reconnected with the urban fabric. A lively and dynamic district, dedicated to innovation, that can be a reference on a national and international scale.

The HUCAMP! project proposes the creation of a new centrality based on the construction of the city through public space. This is materialized in a large green area, the Campa de Todos, capable of organizing the different uses and new buildings around it, forming a cohesive whole. A green campus that promotes social exchange and knowledge.

HUCAMP! seeks to become an exemplary design of sustainable urban development with zero polluting emissions, through the centralization of energy production, the promotion of pedestrian and bicycle mobility, the reuse of demolition material, the management of runoff water, and the reconversion and enhancement of the architectural, artistic and natural heritage.
